Page Description

The path macro page allows the user to view and edit path macros for the Application.

 

Table This table shows all path macros. System macros are read only and can not be changed. User macros can be edited using the buttons below.

The displated macros depend on the context in wich the page is shown:

  • Application: Only Application and Environment macros are shown
  • Solution: Solution, Application and Environment macros are shown.
  • Project: Project, Solution, Application and Environment macros are shown.

 

Page Actions

When this button is clicked, a new macro is added to the table.
When this button is clicked, the selected macro is removed from the table.
When this button is clicked, the selected macro is shown in a dialog so that the user can modify its value.

Scope

The scope of the macro defined where it will be stored.

Application macros will be stored on the local machine and affect all solutions opened on this machine.

Solution macros will be stored in the Solution and affect all projects in this solution.

Project macros will be stored in the project (inside the solution) and will affect only a single project.
Name The name of the macro. It must be unique and not be empty.
Is File Path
 If checked, the path must point to a file. If unchecked, the path must point to a directory instead.

The actual path.

To change the path, click the [...] button on the right of the option.

 

Work with Path Macros

The macros can be used in all configurable paths to create system-independent paths. There are two types:

  • SystemMacros: System defined paths, not changeable
  • UserMacros: User defined paths

 

Those macros can be used in any path. E.g., ‘Generator Options’

A macro starts and ends always with the ‘$’ character, and the name is UPPERCASE.

Add User Macro

Open the project options, and click the ’Add Icon’ on the left side.

Create new Path macros

 

Scope:          Define the macro scope in Application > Solution > Project.

Name:           The macro name. Name is normalized to UPPERCASE.

Is File Path:   The value is true if the content string is referencing a file and false if it is referencing a directory.

Content:        The content of the macro, which may also contain other macros where available in the given cope.

Note

The project and solution scope have the same effect in DATAFLOW Designer V1.6. In the future, this will be used to define macros for multiple projects in a workspace/solution.

 

Edit User Macro

To adjust the file/folder path of a macro, press the edit button on the right of the macro table.

Select the macro to delete and click “Delete” on left side.
